Partner and founder of Mellor Oxland LLP, David Oxland is a Chartered Tax Adviser and Chartered Accountant, who previously worked as a partner in 2 East Midland firms of accountants and business advisers.
He has specialised for the past 20 years as a Private Client Adviser, having commenced his career as an auditor.
David is married with three grown-up daughters and six grandchildren.
He is a very successful runner on the road, track and cross country, and competes at all levels up to World Championships as a Masters athlete. He also still competes at senior level for his club Notts AC, and is a member of the club’s committee. He is past president of the Midland Masters Athletic Club.
In a golden period from May 2011 to July 2012, competing within his new 5 year age band, he won three World Masters championship Gold medals, and thirteen British Masters championship Gold medals In the case of his British championship medals, these covered virtually all possible middle distances from 800m to 10,000m on track, road and cross country.
Since 2012, David has continued to win medals at both European and World level as well as in domestic championships. In 2016 he moved up an age band and competed at the World Masters Track and Field championships in Perth, Australia.
Since moving up another age band in 2021 ,David has broken five national age records on the track and by early 2022 became the fastest all-time UK M70 athlete indoors/outdoors over 800m, 1500m and 3000m.

Charlotte Chapman, Partner, specialised in private client work for almost ten years, initially at a top four firm then at a leading regional practice and subsequently advised small firms of accountants with tax issues across the full spectrum of taxes via a telephone “tax helpline” before joining Mellor Oxland in 2010.
Outside work Charlotte has two teenage daughters, Phoebe and Madeleine, who keep her very busy but she tries to fit in as much cycling, gardening and walking as possible.

Debbie Caine, Partner, trained and qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant before specialising in tax. Having worked initially in a small firm, then spending a considerable time working in a top five firm and then a large regional practice, she has a breadth of experience in dealing with private clients, together with their business interests and trusts.
To add to her achievements and qualifications, Debbie became a Chartered Accountant in 2020.
Most of Debbie’s leisure time is spent with her two children. She also enjoys reading and music.
Cally was delighted to join Mellor Oxland in August 2020 as a Senior Tax Manager and became a partner in September 2021. She originally trained at a top 5 firm, spending 13 years there before moving to a large regional practice. Cally has always worked in the Private Client field and enjoys building long lasting relationships with clients, giving them peace of mind and proactive advice.
Outside of work Cally enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. She loves the countryside and when it is too wet for the outside, she likes sewing and reading at home.

Lisa Kwan, Accounts Manager, joined us in May 2022 having worked for over 16 years at a family run accountancy practice where she looked after company accounts and tax returns for small companies as well as dealing with tax matters for overseas landlords. Lisa works with our corporate clients on all aspects of their company accounts, tax and VAT compliance.
Outside of work, Lisa enjoys reading, taking Bungeefit and aerial hoop classes.

Caroline is our Tax Manager, working on personal and trust clients. Having previously worked in regional practices and a top 5 firm, Caroline has experience in most areas of taxation but her preference is the personal nature of Private Client work.
Outside of work, Caroline enjoys gardening, walking, crafting and cooking.
Esther Firth, Accounts Manager, was delighted to join the firm in June 2023 having spent over 15 years with a local firm in the West Midlands, which in later years merged with another firm and was growing fast. After graduating from university in 2007 she trained as a Chartered Certified Accountant, spending most of her time working with corporate clients from many areas of business and enjoyed building great client relationships.
Esther relocated to Nottinghamshire in 2023 and is enjoying the new pace of life, walking on the trails near her home at the weekend but still returning home to see loved ones regularly.
